Warm, Saucy Nectarines over Brown Rice Farina

brown rice farina bowl with warm, saucy nectarines

Brown rice farina is such comfort food to me lately. It’s got this warm and luscious, sweet and savory balance, smothered in an abundance of flavor on top. Decadent in many ways, least that’s how it feels.

Especially when under the weather, brown rice farina is, to me, relatively mild. Momma has been making this for me a few times a week and I’m always so happy to see it. I hope that you fall in love with it too!

. . . . . . . . .

Brown Rice Farina Bowl with Warm, Saucy Nectarines Recipe

  • 2 portions brown rice farina, cooked
  • 1 medium nectarine, chopped into big chunks
  • 1 cup red grapes
  • 2 – 3 tbsp grapeseed oil
  • 2 pinches kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 cup pecans, halved

Cook farina according to package instructions and set aside in large bowl. Sauté  fruit in oil with pumpkin pie spice and a pinch of salt. Spoon fruit over farina, leaving oil in pan. Add pecans to pan, stirring til warmed and slightly toasted. Add another pinch of salt, to taste. Spoon oil and pecans over fruit and enjoy.
