Ginger Protein Porridge Recipe

ginger protein porridge

Aaah yes, sometimes we win and sometimes we lose but this time it was a successful ingredients mashup!

One day I decided to take things I already had and mix ’em together for a yummy, yummy experiment that actually worked out! This one goes straight onto the favorite things list! Big yaay!

This porridge is comforting, with a little snap to it, and is pretty friggin’ healthy too. Did you know ginger is an analgesic, antibacterial and antifungal? Hemp hearts have 15 grams of protein. And honey’s got anti-inflammatory agents and infection-fighting enzymes.

Combined, they’re even more powerful and the benefits are boosted. Go team!

Plus you’re gonna ADORE how easy it is to make! Doncha just love directions like, “Put everything into a bowl. Period.”

. . . . . . . . . . . .

Ginger Protein Porridge

  • 1 tsp melted honey*
  • 1 tsp powdered ginger*
  • 3 tbsp hemp hearts
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup brown rice (already prepared)

Mix together, adding one ingredient at a time and blending well. Enjoy!

* Even better, use raw honey and fresh ginger.

. . . . . . . . . . . .

Tip: Warm rice is great cuz it’s easier to blend everything, plus it’s nice ‘n soothing. If you go with a raw honey / cold brown rice combo, you’ll want the honey melted. Just pop your little honey-filled bowl into a bigger bowl filled with boiled water and voila! Melty melty!
