Organic food - or as your grandparents called it "food"

why organic?

People sometimes ask me why I choose organic. There are so many reasons.

Do you ever wonder why so many of us are sick and there is such an abundance of cancer and food allergies in the world right now?

It makes perfect sense to me when our foods are being sprayed with chemicals that are meant to kill pests (and what does that do to *us*, when compounded in our systems after eating these things day after day after day, year after year?) and when some of our foods (take corn, for example) are even being genetically modified to actually *be* a pesticide … to grow pesticides *in* them.

Don’t you think that’s just crazy?

There are research studies proving that these things (pesticides and genetically modified organisms) cause cancer. This is why I choose to go with fresh, clean, organic foods and to feel so good about that!

Below are two of many voices who are speaking the same message.

These are parents-turned-food-advocates, whose interest began as loving concern for their kids’ health. There are sooooo many people talking about these issues right now. I could show you some medical reports and research studies that would both disgust and scare the pants offa you. Instead I will share with you these two voices. They speak facts in a relatable way, born out of loving concern.

  • Robyn O’Brien | What’s Wrong with Our Food Supply and How Can We Fix It?

A concerned mother and former financial and food industry analyst, Robyn O’Brien has been called “food’s Erin Brockovich” by the New York Times and Bloomberg. She triggered an allergic reaction in the food industry when she asked: “Are we allergic to food or what’s been done to it?”

The early years of her work, as documented in the bestseller The Unhealthy Truth, is the stuff movies are made of. In the last ten years, she has helped to lead a food awakening among consumers, corporations and politicians. She sheds light on how the changing landscape of food and health are impacting our families and our economy, with the mind of a financial analyst and the heart of a mother.

  • Jeremy Seifert | GMO OMG (Film)

Director and concerned father Jeremy Seifert is in search of answers. How do GMOs affect our children, the health of our planet, and our freedom of choice? And perhaps the ultimate question, which Seifert tests himself: is it even possible to reject the food system currently in place, or have we lost something we can’t gain back?

These and other questions take Seifert on a journey from his family’s table to Haiti, Paris, Norway, and the lobby of agra-giant Monsanto, from which he is unceremoniously ejected. Along the way we gain insight into a question that is of growing concern to citizens the world over: what’s on your plate?
