healing lemon ginger tea

Fresh, soothing and healing … I totally, completely and utterly look forward to it each time … and swear by it for keeping colds away. Drink as a treat on a snowy day (or *every* day, yum!)

Here’s the scoop:

Ginger root, fresh lemon and raw honey are said to have powerful healing qualities. Ever since I tried this combo, I’ve never been taken down by a cold or sore throat. Not once.

I believe in the whole “let food be your medicine” thing and have been more and more trying natural ingredients whenever an issue pops up.

Originally I was drinking this at the first sign of a sore throat. I noticed when I did this, the sore throat would never develop into anything. The soreness would just leave.

Now I just go ahead and enjoy a cup each day, usually before breakfast. It’s become a part of my daily self-care and feels nurturing to my body.

Healing Lemon Ginger Tea Recipe

  • 1/2 lemon, freshly squeezed juice
  • fresh ginger root, grated, to taste (I like about 3/4″ but then again, I’m hard core 😉 )
  • 1 heaping tsp raw honey
  • 1 – 2 cups boiling water

Peel then grate fresh ginger root into a large mug. Add lemon juice and raw honey on a spoon. Pour boiling water over it, stir and enjoy!
